Highlights of “Rolex” ads and their philosophy

This week belongs to the appreciation of fine watches, the brands’ journey and of course, the best ones in advertising. The reason for that actually is a personal research, but I can’t help sharing what I see on my blog.

Naming luxury watch brands, Rolex always makes it to the top on the list. I say not just because of millions of dollars spent each year on their advertising, but also because of 108 years if heritage behind it. As the Adweek would say, ‘if here’s a branding equivalent of reaching nirvana, Rolex has done it.’

Of course when it comes to advertising, Rolex ‘doesn’t just tell time, it  tells history’. Only naming – and featuring- the greatest people of a century  having it on their wriest, would amaze us enough.

The ad shows 10 people  from Rolex ambassadors Tiger Woods and Roger Federer, to Robert DeNiro, Pablo Picasso, Marlon Brando, and Martin Luther King Jr, all wearing Rolex.  

“Worn by luminaries, visionaries and champions. By artists, statesmen, explorers and leaders in their field. Only Rolex can claim such a distinguished group of wearers from the past and present. Rolex pays homage to these remarkable individuals whose lives changed the face of the world.” -The BrandStories explains.
